  Is zeal beginning to vanish?

  it has to be starting to fade somehow.

  the very last time i went out in field service, hardly any were out.

  maybe just about nine people were out and man if you could just see their faces.

  "I do what I'm supposed to do just to keep them away from me."

  This is exactly what is happening and I commented on it yesterday in relation to young and middle age "brothers" not interested anymore in going out for ms or elder.

  Beards galore at the Assembly

  ok, at our recent assembly, i noticed that there were quite a lot of brothers wearing beards.

  not just the older dudes, but right across a range of ages, young men, middle aged men and older men.

  is watchtower beginning to relax this rule at last?

  "brothers" are learning to play the game. They don't really want to run the microphones, give parts or even go out in the ministry. If sporting a beard can eliminate those burdens, why not?

  let me begin by stating that i have no insider information, this is merely my observation.

  i believe that some time ago in watchtower land, somebody at hq posed these questions (probably an outside consultant because i don't think the gb is this hip): .

  what would happen if we cut in half the average age of the responsible brothers in the organization?

  All possibilities, but in the congregations I am still familiar with, they can't get the younger brothers to do anything and the majority of the middle aged brothers are worse. More interested in material things and doing the minimum to keep the ancient elders off their back. But I am in California and in Los Angeles. We are modern day Sodom and Gomorrah according to Brooklyn.

  Orphan Crow, you have your fingerprints all over this very heavily participated thread and I appreciate your input. But it seems to me, even through the assertions of full knowledge of copyright legislation, much of what you are posting is generalization and frankly wrong. People have challenged Watchtower takedowns and lost. Obviously the issue is not a non-sequitur if it has generated this much discussion. But I respect your position.

  john cedars has posted his latest blog "the trouble with apostates (and why it shouldn't put you off becoming one)".

  i acknowledge that he is entitled to his opionin just as we are ours but i am disappointed in some of his comments.. at this stage i'll try to be objective about it.

  he is defending his own position after all.. what bothers me most is his comments about athiests and christians which he seems to identify as being in conflict with each other.

  i got lost ocean by johanna basford and i got another coloring book mandalas and more.

  i just use crayola colored pencils and some gel pens and thin tipped markers.

  It is my hope that Deborah Dykstra maintains control over the copyright of Ray's books and publishes them again independently and without attachment to any other entities. Time will tell.

  But the instant we start using terms like "Hypocrisy" and "Moral compass" then we are making an ethical comparison inasmuch as ethics is the formal language of morality.

  I knew you would catch me out on that. Well done.

  Just tell me you understand what I mean and that everything will be ok.

  I'm not arguing for ethical equivalency. It's a moot point. What I am arguing for is the negligence in identifying the hypocrisy of a community that has shared illegal copies of CoC and WT copyrighted material for decades, now suddenly finding their moral compass and justifying a separation of compliance to law between two entities, one they support and one they do not. Seems clear to me. I am surprised by the obfuscation of so many participating.
